Love’ Lemon

CEO & Founder

 

Rev. Lové Lemon is a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, born in Salem Gardens and raised in Happy Hill Gardens. She received her education in Forsyth County Public schools graduating from Robert B. Glenn high school in 2008. Lovéfurthered her education graduating from Salem College in 2012 as the Student Government Association President receiving her Bachelor of Arts as a Communications major and Political Science minor. She continued her education collecting her Master of Divinity from Wake Forest University: School of Divinity graduating as a powerhouse prophetic preacher. She is an esteemed spoken word poet and a cherished member of our community representing Union Baptist of Jamestown High Point with grace and passion. Lové stands as the proud recipient of the Richard Phillips Young Leadership Award from W-S Arts Council, the Carter G. Woodson Black Visionary Award, a 2024 Fellow of Byron Fellowship, and the prestigious 40 under 40 Leadership Award from Greater W-S.  Lové is a creative and innovative healing justice love practitioner who engages with community members in local, state, and national organizing activities addressing structural, systemic and institutional violence that has traumatized the world. She preaches that this violence must be challenged to shift to healing. She is a facilitator of workshops on power, identity, and the experiences of the oppressed using creative writing, public speaking, storytelling and performance. Lové is skilled in program management and organizational leadership with senior administrative context through becoming the founder of Healing Heights: Where Healing Is Unlimited, LLC and working as their Chief Executive Officer. She is also a founding member of The Healing Unlimited Wellness Collective, LLC alongside Shannon Stokes of ZenByShannon, LLC and Tremona Purvis of Broken Women Breakthrough non-profit. Her choice efforts include transforming young people’s lives through visual and spoken art, healing modalities that include an intentional recess and working to build up advocates for healing justice love. Lovéworks tirelessly with artists who are residents, former residents, and/or dedicated servants of communities burdened by oppression and trauma. She is honored to have been guided and mentored in this work by the late great Rev. Carlton Eversley and Rev. Nelson Johnson. She continues to be honored by the mentorship of Rev. Dr. Kia Hood-Scott, Rev. Dr. John Mendez, Mrs. Joyce Nelson, Rev. Dr. William Barber and a long list of community advocates she is very inspired by. Her work is a beacon of healing, justice and compassion for those who need it most.

Dr. Crystal Ellis

Chief Officer of Research (COR)

Dr. Crystal Ellis holds her Ph.D in African and African Diaspora Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and the primary focus of her research over the past 10 years has been community development practices, and the  impact of these practices on the lives of people impacted by systemic discrimination and marginalization. Her most recent work includes 1.) Coordinating a participatory research and organizing campaign in Madison, Wisconsin, 2.) helping to coordinate the BPI report in partnership with Black Philanthropy Initiative at the Winston Salem Foundation and 3.) developing a shared community research infrastructure across two organizations. Her research interests include occupational activism, intersectionality in institutional policy and Black liberation ideologies.

Willie Holmes, the Chief Content Officer for Healing Heights, who is responsible for all content, design, and media for Healing Heights, is a Resident of Greensboro, North Carolina, but calls Winston-Salem home. A graduate of the Forsyth county school system and alumni of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a degree in computer science. Willie is a poet, spoken word artist, video game and Lil wayne stan, who loves to watch movies and anime in his spare time. All of that has added to his creative eye and sense of self. Being true to himself and all parts of himself is how he tries to change the world for the better.
